This page explains how 5G SIM is put together, so you can decide how much weight to give it.
Sources
Network facts such as launch dates, coverage figures and switch-off plans come from operator announcements, Ofcom publications and established trade reporting. Where an operator’s claim and Ofcom’s figures differ, both are given. Technical explanations draw on the 3GPP and GSMA standards and on practical experience with routers, modules and SIMs.
Dates and reviews
Mobile networks change quickly. Every guide shows the date it was last reviewed, and figures within the text are dated where they are likely to change. Notebook posts show their publication date and reflect the market when they were written.
Independence
Nobody pays to appear in the guides, and the guides do not carry affiliate or commercial links. Some notebook posts review specific products or mention suppliers; those are the author’s own views.
Commercial relationships
Nick works with Millbeck Communications, which runs RouterStore. Some notebook posts link to RouterStore or Millbeck where a product or service is directly relevant, and those posts carry a disclosure at the end. The guides contain no commercial links.
Corrections
If something is wrong or out of date, it will be fixed and the review date updated. Significant corrections are noted in the text.
Plain English
The aim is to explain, not to impress. Technical terms are used when they are useful and defined when they first appear, with a glossary for reference. UK English throughout.
